It is a city located on the southern shore of Lake Argentino, in the Patagonia region, in the province of Santa Cruz, Argentina, about 80 km from the Perito Moreno Glacier. It has its notoriety for being the gateway to the National Park Los Glaciares, which has tourist attractions such as the Perito Moreno Glacier, Upsala Glacier, among others.
It is a Chilean city and port located at the southern end of the country, on the banks of the Señoret Channel, between the Gulf of Admiral Montt and Seno Last Hope, in the Region of Magallanes and the Chilean Antarctic. It is located 247 kilometers north of Puerto Natales; 48 km from the Argentine city of Río Turbio and 256 km from the capital Rìo Gallegos of the province of Santa Cruz, Argentina. It is considered the gateway to the famous Torres del Paine Natural Park.
